The Laminam Star Maker slab won the highest award in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016 competition. The Red Dot jury granted this product the most prestigious "Red Dot: Best of the Best" award. It has been designed by the Polish designer Mac Stopa. The winning product has been developed in cooperation with Laminam Poland. The first building in which the Laminam Star Maker slab were used was the modern office complex Warsaw Spire.

The Red Dot Design Award, called the Oscars of Design, is the largest and most famous global competition in the field of industrial design.  The highest award – the "Red Dot: Best of the Best" – is granted for outstanding product design. In 2016, it was awarded to only 1.5% of the approximately 5,200 applications submitted by manufacturers and designers from 57 countries. It was in this small and extremely prestigious group of "The best of the best" in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016 category that the Polish design of ceramic slab: Laminam Star Maker found itself. Star Maker is the latest project of the Polish designer Mac Stopa, who created this futuristic and minimalist design especially for the Laminam brand.

Laminam Star Maker is a three-dimensional puzzle made up of pentagonal stars, built into a larger-scale, hexagonal tessellation. The advanced geometry of the tessellation allows for creating many layout patterns by rotating the panels by 90 degrees and combining with neighbouring tiles in various ways. Such a mosaic of small elements with an organised structure provides a perfect backdrop for modern interior arrangements, both commercial and residential.
